Connections for All:
Enhancing CTC Access for Every Community Member

Launched in 2006, the Connections for All (C4All) program aims to enhance the capacity of CTCs to serve people with a broad range of abilities by offering opportunities for training, for funding, and to access other tools and resources. Funded by a grant from AT&T, this project is a collaboration between CTCNet and the Alliance for Technology Access (ATA).
Close to 200 participants representing over 150 organizations attended the 10 C4All Accessibility Institutes held in 8 different states from November 2006 through January 2007. Twenty-four organizations that participated in the Institutes were selected to receive $1000 AccessNow Awards to help make simple and cost-effective improvements to their programs and facilities to make them more inviting and accessible to people with a broad range of abilities.
In April 2007, CTCNet awarded 14 Accessibility Grants totaling $280,000 to CTCs across the country. The grants were used to expand the capacity of CTCs to serve people with physical and learning disabilities, enabling them to have greater access to educational, vocational and social opportunities. In addition, they provided targeted professional development to CTC staff and provided assistive technology resources and guidance for CTCs in order to create more inclusive community-based environments for all people.
All CTCs are encouraged to take advantage of resources for assessing and enhancing accessibility created for the C4All program.
